Justice for Mahsa Amini | Amnesty UK

People around the world want justice for Mahsa Amini.

Reports that she died as a result of torture in custody have sparked nationwide protests in Iran. Mahsa was arrested by the Iranian authorities enforcing the country’s abusive forced veiling laws.

Protests include women peacefully protesting against compulsory veiling by taking off their headscarves, cutting their hair or burning headscarves.

Forced veiling laws violate human rights including the rights to equality, privacy and freedom of expression and belief. These laws degrade women and girls, stripping them of their dignity and self-worth.

The world must stand in solidarity with women and girls in Iran.

Mahsa Amini’s death must not go unpunished.
