Returned to the sea: the village that could be lost to climate change | Greenpeace UK



When residents of Fairbourne, a small village on the west coast of Wales, were told that their village would be “decommissioned” and returned to the sea, people were shocked. It seemed like the first signs of climate change happening in the UK in a big way.

The threat of rising sea levels and extreme weather is real. But other communities around the world have been experiencing the worst effects of climate change for years already.
