British brand Hunter Boots and Stella McCartney have teamed up to launch a new sustainable rubber boot on Sept, 16. The boot is vegan and is according to Stella McCartney made from natural rubber from certified, sustainably-managed forests in Guatemala.
As an alternative to neoprene, the rubber boots are fitted with stretch inserts made from a plant-based alternative called Yulex™ which is said to be made without petrochemicals and sourced from the same forests as the rubber and generating 80% less carbon dioxide than traditional neoprene. In terms of strength and elasticity, the new stretch inserts are said to deliver a near-identical performance.
The short wellies debuted on the Winter 2019 runway in Paris and are available for women and men for £ 320.
